   Why do we begin the prayer by saying “Hallowed by thy name”? Why do we need to tell God that he is holy?
   為何我們以”願祢的名被尊為聖”開始主禱文?為何我們要告訴神祂是神聖的?

   your question is very important.i think we do not inform god what He is, but we express our very strong wish that His name will be holy in front of our eyes, here and now. means that we want god to be worshiped by us, that all people will finally know that only our Father is holy. Gregory of nyssa says that the name of god should not be humiliated because of me, of my behavior, but i should be god so people to glorify my Father. also we want that god reveal His name , his knowledge and His presence to people , that only he is the real Holy. the name of god , in Hebrew understanding is the presence of god, so Hebrews did not dare to pronounce aloud His name. and we do not pray as individuals, but we pray as the church prays, we become one mouth, and we express the wish of the church. actually the church , by the sacraments, the teachings etc. spreads the divine energy of God in the universe , so makes reality the holiness of god. god makes holy his name saving the people.
   您的問題非常重要。我想，我們並不需要告訴神祂是什麼，而是表達我們強烈地盼望祂的名字在我們眼前，在此時此刻，成為神聖。也表示我們想要崇拜神，使所有人最終都認識唯有聖父是神聖的。Gregory of nyssa 說，”神的名字不可因為我，或我的行為，而蒙羞，相反的，我應該成為神(god，而非God，也可譯為”聖”)，人們才會榮耀我在天上的父。” 我們也希望神在眾人面前顯明祂的聖名，知識，和臨在，唯有祂是真正神聖的。在希伯來人的理解中，神的名字即是神的臨在，因此希伯來人出於敬畏，不會大聲呼喊神的名。再者，我們並非以個人的身分祈禱，而是以教會的身分祈禱，我們成為同一個口，表達教會的願望。事實上，教會透過聖事，透過教導…等等，在宇宙中散佈神的神聖能量，因此轉化現實為神聖。神使祂的名字成為神聖，以拯救眾生。

   BBE Ezekiel 36:23 “And I will make holy my great name which has been made unclean among the nations, which you have made unclean among them; and it will be clear to the nations that I am the Lord, says the Lord, when I make myself holy in you before their eyes.”
   以西結書(和合本)36：23 “我要使我的大名顯為聖；這名在列國中已被褻瀆，就是你們在他們中間所褻瀆的。我在他們眼前，在你們身上顯為聖的時候，他們就知道我是耶和華。這是主耶和華說的。”

   so we express our strong desire that god will save all. and we pray as members of the church, as members of all who suffer, not as individuals.as paul says NKJ 2 Corinthians 11:29 “Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?”
   因此我們表達強烈的渴求，盼望神拯救全人類。我們祈禱，以教會的身分祈禱，以所有受苦者的身分祈禱，而非以個人的身分祈禱。如同保羅在哥林多後書(和合本)11：29所說 “有誰軟弱，我不軟弱呢﹖有誰跌倒，我不焦急呢?”

   Why God allow us to pronounce His name?
   Is God’s name “Jesus Christ” or “Yahweh”?
   為何舊約時期，神禁止我們稱呼他的名?神的名字是”耶穌基督”還是”耶和華”?

   sorry for not answering at once, i am in Taipei book exhibition.
   god did not forbade to pronounce his name. it become a habit tho Hebrews because of respect, and of misunderstanding the Leviticus 24:16 . after the babilon captivity they used to use the names Adonai and Elohim, habit which continues till today. the pronunciation of the name Yahweh is forgotten and scholars still try to discover.
   the name Jesus is the human name of the incarnates Son of God. or god is the Father, Son , Holy Spirit. those terms are not names (like george, john etc..) but declare relationship, way of existing. Yahweh is for the Father, Yahweh is the Son , Yahweh is the Holy Spirit as we will see in coming bible study. god has no name, like we have a name. our name is to identify us, to distinguish from others. god can not be expressed in human words.

   神並沒有禁止人類唸誦祂的名字。希伯來人不直呼神名的習俗，是出於敬畏神，以及對利未記24：16的誤解。在巴比倫囚禁之後，他們慣稱神名為Adonai 和Elohim，直到今日亦然。Yahweh的發音已被遺忘，學者們正在發掘原因。
   耶穌的名字，是道成肉身聖子的人類名字。神是聖父，聖子，聖靈，這些名稱並非名字，而是宣告三位一體的關係，宣告神存在的方式。接下來的幾堂查經課，我們將會發現，在舊約中，當希伯來人以Yahweh稱呼神，其實是同時指向聖父，聖子，聖靈，但是他們自己並不知道。事實上，神沒有名字，不像我們需要用名字來確定身分，區別彼此。我們無法以人類語言界定神。
