   Thank Fr.Jonah for the explanation of “temptations”.

   But I still have a question.

   Why God allow devils to seduce us? We are not like Job, Job can be the good example to others ,but we are very easy to sin. Why don’t God just cancel devil’s power, or limit devils in a special place where they can’t hurt human?

   Because some people, after being seduced by devils and make sins, don’t know how to change, or can’t forgive themselves, even commit suicide…like Jude.

   Why? Why God allow devils to go around everywhere,like a lion searches a meal? Is this strange?

   為何神允許魔鬼誘惑我們呢?我們不像約伯，約伯能夠成為其他人的榜樣，但我們是很容易犯罪的。為何神不直接奪走魔鬼的力量，或是將魔鬼囚禁在一個無法傷害人類的地方呢?
   因為某些人，在被魔鬼誘惑犯罪後，不知道如何改過，或是無法原諒自己，甚至因此自殺了…好比猶大。
   為什麼呢?為什麼神允許魔鬼到處遊走，甚至如同獅子般尋找可吞吃的人?這不是很奇怪嗎?

   the ascetic books, specially the abba dorotheos, and others of course explain very clearly. some monk asked the same question. and the spiritual father said: how told you that the devils temp you? this is only for very holly people, like Job,and other holy people etc.. WE are tempted by our bad desires, by our bad habits, by our bad education, our bad manners.
   NKJ James 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.James 1:15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.

   修道書籍，尤其是Dorotheos神父的著作，(當然還包括其他人的作品)，能夠非常明確的回答你的問題。一些修士們也曾有過同樣的疑問，而他們的靈修父親回答：”你怎能說是魔鬼在誘惑你呢?魔鬼只會誘惑非常聖潔的人，像是約伯，和其他的聖者們。而我們，是被我們自己的惡欲，惡習，無知，和惡劣的態度誘惑。” “但各人被試探，乃是被自己的私慾牽引誘惑的。私慾既懷了胎，就生出罪來；罪既長成，就生出死來。(雅各書1:14~15，和合本)”

   i think it is very unfair for the poor devil to be accused by anyone. my spiritual father, once said to somebody who was complaining that the devil cause temptations to him.: leave the poor devil alone! YOU are tempting the devil , not the devil you.

   不論是被誰控訴，我想，對可憐的魔鬼來說，都是很不公平的。我的屬靈父親，有一次對一個正在向他抱怨受到魔鬼誘惑的人說：”放過可憐的魔鬼吧!是你在誘惑魔鬼，不是魔鬼在誘惑你!”

   it is easy to say that the devil or anybody else EXCEPT us is responsible. to see how this true , try to cut some bad habit, or try to be more polite. you will find it is difficult. why? you think it is the devil objecting? no!!! it is our bad habit.

   要把責任推給自己以外的魔鬼或任何人，是很容易的。想知道這說法有多正確嗎?試著戒除自己某些惡習，或是試著對人更有禮，你會發現難如登天。為什麼?你認為那是來自魔鬼的阻擋嗎?不!那是來自我們自己。

   but for the general question, why god does not stop the devil, i think we need a big discussion. i think if he stop the devil, he MUST STOP ME also (and obviously you) from doing bad things. it is not only the devil. and if god does this, then the freedom is over.

   但關於神為何不阻止魔鬼的大哉問，我們需要慎重討論。我想，如果神要阻止魔鬼，那神也一定要阻止我(當然也包括你)做壞事。絕對不只是魔鬼的問題而已。況且，如果神這麼做，自由就不存在了。
